Parts of the country are set to welcome summery temperatures from Thursday onwards, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI).

While the rest of Monday is expected to be rather cloudy, the sun will already start to make an appearance; sunny spells are expected on the coast and in Belgian Lorraine. Maximum temperatures will range from 16°C in the Ardennes to 20°C in Flanders.

On Tuesday, during the day, cloud cover will increase from the coast and become heavy with a chance of light rain north of the Sambre and Meuse rivers. Temperatures will reach 20°C in the centre of the country.

Similarly, Wednesday will start heavily overcast with some drizzle in places in the morning. After that, clear spells from the north are predicted, with maximum temperatures ranging between 20°C and 23°C.

The maximum temperatures will rise significantly on Thursday. Temperatures will range between 25°C and 29°C. It will be sunny, although more clouds will appear at the end of the day and there is a chance of local showers, possibly with thunderstorms.

Friday will also be warm and summery, with a chance of local showers again in the evening or at night. Maximum temperatures will rise to 32°C in the Kempen region.

Saturday will be partly cloudy with a chance of a few local showers, possibly with thunder, especially in the east of the country. It will be warm again, up to 22°C on the coast and 29°C in the Kempen region.

On Sunday, temperatures will be between 18°C and 22°C. It will be partly cloudy with a chance of a few showers, especially in the east of the country.
