Members of the Brussels Parliament’s Home Affairs Committee unanimously agreed on Tuesday to hold hearings with grassroots associations, police representatives, and other stakeholders next term to address the issue of managing police pursuits.

According to the committee’s chairperson, Aline Godfrin (MR), this decision follows the tragic death of young Fabian and aims to continue the work on a 2020 resolution to improve relations between citizens and law enforcement.

The resolution highlighted the danger of fatal police pursuits involving young people in the Brussels region.

After these hearings, the committee members will review the implementation of the recommendations made in 2020, which were unanimously adopted by Parliament.
