The Belgian pavilion at the world exhibition in Osaka has surpassed 300,000 visitors, exceeding expectations, according to BelExpo, the Belgian General Commission for International Exhibitions.

Since the expo began on 13 April, 304,005 people have visited the pavilion, which focuses on “human regeneration,” aiming to improve and extend the quality of human life. Belgium presents itself as a global leader in biotechnology, pharmaceutical innovations, and medical research. The pavilion hopes to attract around 900,000 visitors throughout the event, which runs until 13 October.

"This achievement of welcoming over 300,000 visitors in less than three months is a testament to the team’s hard work and Belgium’s vision," said Pieter De Crem, Commissioner-General of the Belgian pavilion. "We hope to inspire thousands more in the coming months."

The Osaka expo sees about 130,000 visitors daily, with the Belgian pavilion attracting an average of 4,900 visitors each day, roughly 5% of the total. On Thursday, during the middle of ‘Flemish Week’ at the expo, the pavilion set a new record with 5,326 visitors in one day.

The Japanese media now ranks the Belgian pavilion among the top three must-visit pavilions at the exhibition.
