De Overpoortstraat in Ghent will be transformed into an open-air festival on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 June, as vzw Overpoort Gent hosts a free two-day event in the heart of the student district.
The festival, named Overpoort Open Air, aims to celebrate the end of the academic year and provide a platform for local DJ talent. A central stage will feature five DJs, including Adix, Diëtro, Paradocs, and Miamor, who will perform electronic music.
Thirteen cafés will participate, each offering their own outdoor bar, turning the street into a large festive terrace.
The open-air event will begin at 16:00 and conclude at midnight. After midnight, festivities will move indoors to respect the neighbourhood’s residents’ sleep.
Entry to the festival is free. More information is available on the official Overpoort Open Air Facebook event page. The initiative is supported by participating hospitality businesses and is aimed at a broad, celebratory audience.
