Belgian business confidence continued to rise in June, marking the third consecutive month of improvement, with notable optimism in the industrial sector and business services, according to the National Bank’s monthly economic barometer.

The confidence index reached -10.1 points, an increase of 3.4 points compared to the previous month. In March, it was recorded at -15.1 points.

Significant improvements were observed this month in two sectors: business services and manufacturing. The industry foresees growth in demand, leading to better order positions and more positive employment prospects. Business services also anticipate increased demand and hold positive expectations for future activity.

Conversely, sentiment worsened in trade and construction. The order book in construction has been revised downwards, yet the future demand outlook remains positive. Trade faces a more negative evaluation of demand prospects.

The synthetic curve, reflecting the smoothed trend, remains unchanged from the previous month.
