On Thursday, the Liège correctional tribunal was urged to impose prison sentences of five to six years on four men from Liège involved in the kidnapping of a 27-year-old man after the Les Ardentes music festival.

The incident occurred on 14 July 2024 in Rocourt, following the music festival. A 27-year-old man was targeted for kidnapping as he returned to his car.

A vehicle stopped nearby, and two people emerged, binding the man's arms before taking him away. The victim was pressured to reveal his bank card codes, and the kidnappers stole several thousand euros from his account, either by emptying it or making transfers.

He was abandoned in a forest in Seraing and threatened with reprisals if he spoke out. His car was also stolen.

The prosecution outlined the roles of each of the four key suspects involved. The prosecutor requested prison sentences of five to six years for these suspects.

A fifth individual, suspected of having a minor role in the crime, was recommended for acquittal due to insufficient evidence.
