Temperatures expected to keep rising after a few weekend showers

Thunderstorms and showers are expected to persist on Thursday afternoon in the east of the country, while the weather will be drier in the west and centre, with some sunny intervals, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium (IRM).

Temperatures will range from 20 to 24 degrees Celsius, and the wind will be moderate from the west to south-west, with gusts up to 60 km/h.

Conditions will remain dry during the evening, but showers may return overnight, with temperatures dropping to between 11 and 15 degrees Celsius.

Friday morning will be cloudy, with the possibility of light rain. Conditions will improve throughout the day, starting in the west, with highs between 19 and 24 degrees, while the sun will return in the evening. Overnight temperatures will range between 12 and 18 degrees.

Saturday will start by being sunny, before clouds develop over Upper Belgium and the western regions. Maximum temperatures will range from 23 to 24 degrees in the Ardennes and on the coast, and between 26 and 29 degrees in the plains.

On Sunday, the weather will be mostly sunny, aside from some cumulus clouds forming inland in the afternoon. Highs will be 23 to 24 degrees at sea, 25 to 26 degrees in elevated regions, and between 28 and 31 degrees in the centre.

Temperatures will continue to climb on Monday, reaching 26 degrees on the coast, 29 degrees in the Ardennes, and 31 to 33 degrees in central areas.

By Tuesday, maximum temperatures will reach 30 degrees along the coast, and 33 to 35 degrees in the plains.

Temperatures will again reach or exceed 30 degrees on Wednesday, but thunderstorms might occur later in the day or overnight.

Thursday will bring variable weather conditions with some showers. Temperatures in the centre will range between 23 and 24 degrees Celsius.
