Police dismantled a synthetic drug lab in an abandoned farm in Geel on Thursday evening, according to Antwerp’s public prosecutor on Friday.
Two Dutch nationals, aged 27 and 28, were arrested and have since been placed under arrest by the investigating judge.
Federal judicial police received a tip-off about a potential drug lab at the farm and gathered enough evidence to conduct a search.
Upon entry, officers immediately detected a chemical smell. Two Dutch nationals were found both inside the building and in its vicinity.
On-site officers discovered equipment used for drug production and concluded that amphetamines were being manufactured in the lab.
