Man in life danger after skirmish and stabbing in Antwerp

A man was critically injured in a street altercation that led to a stabbing in Antwerp on Saturday morning, according to local police.

The incident occurred shortly after 6:00 in the morning at the student district. While the exact circumstances are still under investigation, it is reported that the victim allegedly pulled a young woman by the hair at Grote Kauwenberg, causing her to fall.

Kim Bastiaens, a police spokesperson, stated that the woman’s friend then stabbed the young man with a knife. The man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The two women fled the scene and have not yet been apprehended. Police have launched an investigation, and a forensic team is on-site to collect evidence.

As of afternoon, police in Antwerp have arrested an 18-year-old woman in connection with a stabbing incident in the city's student district. A 21-year-old woman, also involved, has been identified and is set to be questioned.

The 37-year-old male victim remains in critical condition.
