An 81-year-old man suspected of killing his spouse has died in Bruges Prison, the Public Prosecutor's Office, OPP, of West Flanders confirmed on Thursday.
The man was suspected of murdering his 82-year-old wife at the end of June and was arrested shortly afterwards.
A home nurse discovered the victim’s lifeless body in their Ypres residence, leading to the husband’s arrest for questioning. He was then charged with murder.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office declined to give any further details.
