Belgium’s national railway company, SNCB, reported a surge in international train bookings in Summer 2024, reaching around 1.5 million, 50% more than in 2019.
Ticket sales for Summer 2025 to other countries are comparable to last year, despite the previous summer’s events such as the Paris Olympics and Euro 2024 in Germany.
SNCB International has recently added 200 new destinations in Spain, bringing its offering to more than 6,000 destinations in 14 European countries.
The company aims to reach 8,000 destinations by 2030.
The top ten most popular countries for travellers are France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Denmark, and Spain.
High-speed connections remain the most utilised option across all destinations, according to SNCB.
