A fatal traffic accident occurred on the E19 near Mechelen on Friday evening, resulting in the death of a driver, as confirmed by the federal police on Saturday.
The accident took place around 17:00 near the Mechelen-Noord exit, heading towards Antwerp. The driver possibly lost control of the vehicle and died shortly after at the scene.
Further investigation by the public prosecutor’s office is expected to provide more clarity on the circumstances of the accident. Currently, there is no information available about the victim.
