Two Belgian teenagers, both aged 15, were injured on Saturday while canyoning on the Bellos River in the village of Puyarruego, located in the Spanish Pyrenees, as reported by El Diario de Huesca on Monday.
One of the girls sustained more serious injuries.
The teenagers, who were camping in the area, slipped and fell, resulting in severe injuries to one and lighter injuries to the other.
The accident occurred at around 16:00 on Saturday. A rescue operation was launched involving multiple emergency services. The teenagers were with an adult, who was uninjured.
One of the girls suffered serious injuries to her back and legs and was airlifted to Barbastro Hospital. The other sustained minor knee bruises and was taken to a health centre in Ainsa for a medical assessment.
