The number of hours worked in the temporary employment sector went up by 0.68% in June compared to the previous month, sector federation FEDERGON announced on Monday.
The increase followed several months of significant decreases.
Adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, hours worked increased by 0.64% among permanent employees and by 0.68% among temporary workers in June.
Nevertheless, temporary employment remains at a relatively low level, FEDERGON reported.
Compared to June 2024, the sector showed a 1.94% decrease in hours worked.
The temporary employment sector is traditionally seen as a reliable barometer of economic conditions, as companies typically first turn to temporary workers during an economic upturn and are quick to let them go when the economic situation worsens.
