Rehabilitation work on the E42/A27 motorway between Laboru and Ensival heading towards Battice is set to begin on Wednesday, 6 August, announced the Société de Financement Complémentaire des Infrastructures (Sofico) on Thursday.

The project will cause changes in traffic conditions until November.

Traffic will continue with two lanes in both directions. Towards Battice, drivers will use one regular lane and one contraflow lane with a speed limit of 50 km/h. In the direction of Saint-Vith, traffic will maintain two lanes with a maximum speed of 70 km/h.

Exits 7 (Laboru) and 6 (Verviers South) will stay open for most of the construction, closing less than a week at a time toward Battice, but not simultaneously.

The three-kilometre project aims to replace reinforced concrete with tarmac. The existing tarmac surfaces for exit accesses will also be renewed.
