Liège's Criminal Court sentenced a 25-year-old city resident to four years in prison on Thursday for acts of assault and battery, sexual assault and rape committed on three of his former partners.
The victims, including the mother of his children, did not know each other when they reported that they had been the victims of similar behaviour by the defendant.
One ex-partner reported four incidents of rape that took place on the same evening in February 2023. The defendant, under the influence of alcohol, was walking with the victim in a wood in Angleur when he assaulted and raped her.
In March 2025, he held a knife to the throat of another ex-partner before attempting to touch her inappropriately. She was also struck.
The third victim is the mother of the defendant's children, who reported rapes committed in 2020 at a later date.
The defendant contested some of the charges, citing the influence of alcohol and drugs on his behaviour.
However, the court found him guilty on all counts and sentenced him to four years in prison.
