Significant resurfacing work on a section of the Brussels Ring Road between Beersel and the Hal interchange will start on Monday.
The Vlaams Verkeerscentrum, the Flemish agency responsible for roads, anticipates disruptions during peak hours in the mornings and evenings, with the work expected to continue until the end of August.
A total of 7 km of road will be upgraded, with the asphalt replaced in both directions. A 12 cm layer will be removed, followed by the application of two new layers of asphalt and new road markings. The lane widths will be “optimised” for increased safety.
Starting Monday until the end of August, traffic will be reduced to two lanes in both directions. The corresponding entry and exit ramps will be closed depending on the work zone.
Disruptions are expected primarily in the evening on the outer ring and in the morning in the opposite direction.
Simultaneously, drainage work will be carried out on the A8 between Hal and Wallonia, with one lane obstructed.
