'Oppressive' heat forecast for Belgium

The heat will be “oppressive” this Tuesday afternoon with highs around 86°F on the coast, 82 or 84°F in the Ardennes hills, and 90 or 92°F in most other regions, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) in its midday bulletin.

The weather will remain sunny and tropical until at least Thursday, with temperatures expected to exceed 30°C every day. However, there will be more clouds in the sky and a risk of heat storms on Wednesday and Thursday.

In the following days, maximum temperatures are expected to gradually drop below 30°C. Temperatures of around 25°C are expected in the center of the country on Sunday.
