The 9th edition of the Forest Sounds Festival will take place on 29 and 30 August at the historic Forest Abbey, organisers revealed on Friday at the BRASS cultural space, in partnership with the Palais des Sciences and the Forest municipality.

As usual, the festival aims to be inclusive and welcoming to all. Families are encouraged to attend, organisers say.

The eclectic line-up features DJs, artistic performances, and bands from Belgium and artistes from abroad, including France, the Netherlands, and Argentina. A special highlight will be a four-hour DJ set by Lefto Early Birds, celebrating 30 years of his career.

Entrance will be on a 'pay what you can' basis, but tickets are mandatory for attendees aged 15 and over. Organisers hope to achieve an average contribution of €5 per person to offset increasing budget pressures.

The festival’s popularity continues to grow, with 12,000 to 16,000 attendees recorded in past editions. “We hope to break that record this year,” organisers said.

Meanwhile, the office of Mayor Charles Spapens (PS) expressed pride in the festival’s resilience and growth despite financial challenges.

Forest Sounds is a collaborative effort led by cultural and institutional partners, including Palais des Sciences (Antitapas Nights), BRASS, and the Forest municipality.

In addition to concerts and DJ sets, the festival will feature interactive activities, performances, and an association village to create a vibrant, community-focused atmosphere.
