Aerospacelab, a satellite design, manufacturing, and operations company based in Charleroi, has announced the successful closing of a €94 million funding round aimed at accelerating its ambitious growth trajectory.
The funding comprises a €56 million Series B investment and a €38 million commitment from a European financial institution, believed to be the European Investment Bank (EIB), according to L’Echo. The Series B round, conducted in two phases, is intended to fast-track Aerospacelab’s industrial roadmap and solidify its role in the aerospace sector, the company said in a statement.
“This fundraising goes far beyond a simple financial investment,” said Benoît Deper, CEO and founder of Aerospacelab. “It empowers our vision and enables us to design, manufacture, and deploy the next generations of satellite constellations on a large scale,” he added.
A significant portion of this funding has already been allocated to the construction of Aerospacelab’s “Megafactory” in Marcinelle, which the company says will be one of Europe’s most advanced satellite production facilities. The factory is expected to produce up to 500 satellites annually, with production set to commence in 2026 and full capacity anticipated by 2027.
This substantial investment underscores Aerospacelab’s growing importance in the European aerospace ecosystem and its potential to lead in satellite innovation and manufacturing.
