Thieves broke into the Huy Municipal Museum in Liège Province on Monday night and stole a number of antique items, the Communauté Historia association reported on Tuesday evening.
A dagger with an ivory handle, several historic pipes, and old coins were taken during the burglary.
Experts indicate that the monetary value of the stolen items is minimal but emphasise their undeniable cultural and symbolic significance.
