A new demonstration against Covid-19 health measures will be held on Sunday in Brussels.

Named “March for Freedom Act 2”, the new protest gathering hopes to have as big turnout as the first “National March” that took place on 21 November, Belga news agency reports. That march had gathered some 35,000 participants according to an estimation by police.

The organisers protest in particular against the use of the Covid Safe Ticket (CST) and that the government has made it mandatory for nursing staff to get vaccinated.

The demonstrators will gather at 1:00 PM on Sunday at Gare du Nord before moving on to the Cinquantenaire Park.

Police are planning to have both uniformed and plainclothes personnel present,” Ilse Van de Keere, spokesperson for the Brussels-Capital-Ixelles police zone, told Belga.

The idea is to avoid the kind of outbursts that took place in the November march.
