Train traffic has been suspended on four tracks between Kontich-Lint and Mechelen on the Antwerp-Brussels line, Infrabel said on Tuesday.

Trains are at a standstill due to an accident involving a person in Duffel.

Train services have been adjusted with local diversions for some trains, and replacement buses will be provided for passengers.

Train traffic is interrupted between Mechelen and Kontich, according to SNCB, but a rail replacement service will be available from 17:00.

For Antwerp and Brussels-North passengers, people are advised to travel via Ghent-Sint-Pieters.

The disruption is expected to end between 19:00 and 20:00.

Rail passengers should check the Belgian national operator SNCB/NMBS's website for updates.
