An explosion was heard just before 4:00 last night outside the synagogue on Rue Léon Frédéricq in Liège, the local police reported.
No one was injured, according to the police, but material damage was caused.
The blast shattered the windows of buildings across the street.
Police have closed the street to conduct their investigation and established a perimeter around the immediate area.
