The UK government has raised its national terrorism threat level to “severe” following an antisemitic attack in north London that left two people injured.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood announced the change on Thursday, stating that it means a terrorist attack is now considered highly likely.

The adjustment places the threat level at the fourth tier on a five-point scale used to assess national security threats.
