Russian army air strikes in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv have killed ten civilians and injured at least 11 more on Saturday, the region’s governor announced on Sunday evening.
“During the day, the occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in Balaklya, Pesochin, Zolochiv and Dergachi. At present, we know of ten people killed, including a child, and 11 injured,” Governor Oleh Synyehubov said on Telegram.
Synyehubov did not provide any further details on the “heavy bombardments” by the Russian army.

Kharkiv is Ukraine’s second-largest city with nearly 1.5 million inhabitants before its population fled during the war, as it is located about forty kilometres away from the Russian border.
Ukraine has been defending itself from Russian forces since 24 February, without falling into Moscow’s hands. In recent days, Russian troops have withdrawn from the Kharkiv region and retreated towards eastern and southern Ukraine.
