People living in apartments and subsidized housing that use fuel oil, propane or butane gas for heating will receive a federal allowance of 200 euros, CD&V parliamentarian Nahima Lanjri said on Sunday, based on a response she received from Economic Affairs Minister Pierre-Yves Dermagne.
Many questions have been raised with regard to people living together in a single heating system.
They will not benefit directly from the 6% VAT reduction on gas and electricity since the joint owners’ assembly to which they belong has a professional, non-residential contract, Belga News Agench reports.
Real estate federations have been drawing politicians’ attention to this issue for a month now. Solutions are being studied through the granting of a single allowance, Belga noted.
