The Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) has announced a "code yellow" for Thursday for the whole of Belgium, due to a fairly active thunderstorm zone, with a chance of hail storms.

On Thursday morning, the thunderstorm area is mainly visible over the western part of the country, and moves to the other areas in the afternoon it moves.

"At the same time, it will be dry more often in the west, and the chance of thunderstorms will decrease as well," the RMI announced on its website. "Over the course of the evening, it will also become dry in the rest of the country."

During the strongest thunderstorms, 10–20 mm of rainfall may occur, with gusts of wind of up to 70 km/h. There is also a chance of hail, especially in the east.
