Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister Petra De Sutter has shared a video on the popular social media platform TikTok, which has gone viral and received as many as 1.4 million views at the time of writing.

The gynaecologist and politician is a member of the Greens party and has previously served as a Member of the European Parliament from 2019 to 2020. In 2020, she was named Deputy PM with the responsibility of overseeing Belgium's public administration and public enterprises in Alexander De Croo's government.

With nearly 9,000 followers on TikTok, De Sutter has an audience interested in the issues she tackles in politics, from the regulation of surrogacy and independent clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry and the rights of LGBTQ+ people. She is the first transgender minister in Europe.

The TikTok that went viral is part of a trend that is popular among companies and organisations. The social media manager tells their colleagues it's time to make another TikTok video, while their colleagues are often busy doing other tasks.
