Weather: Heavy rainfall expected on Wednesday after record-breaking heatwave

After high temperatures Monday and Tuesday, the weather will be cloudy on Wednesday, with some light showers, which could become intense thunderstorms in local areas.

According to Belgium's Royal Meteorological Institute, there will be a pause in the rain around noon, but more rain and thunderstorms will follow in the afternoon. The weather will be less hot with highs of 24°C around Brussels, 23°C by the Coast and highs of 29°C in Campine, a northeastern region near the border with the Netherlands. There will be a moderate wind from west to southwest.

This evening and Thursday night could see more showers, with a drop in temperature with lows between 13°C and 18°C, with moderate winds.

Thursday will see cloudy skies as well as some local showers. Temperature highs will be 21°C by the coast and 25-26°C.

Friday will see mixed weather with some clouds, sun and the risk of showers in the evening, with temperature highs 21-24°C.

This weekend, the dry and sunny weather will make a comeback, as will the summer temperatures. On Saturday, temperatures will start rising again between 21-27°C, with up to 30°C on Sunday.
