The lifeless body of Frédéric Gonzalez Moradiellos, a police officer who had been missing since July, was discovered in the Bierghes countryside on Tuesday evening.

According to a representative for the Walloon Brabant Public Prosecutor's Office, he was located in a field near Rue Quenestine in Bierghes.

The 35-year-old police officer had worked in the Brussels-Capital region before relocating to Walloon Brabant. He was last seen in early July at his house in Rebecq house.

“The body was in a condition that made it difficult to identify," the Public Prosecutor's Office told Belga News Agency, "the intervention of a forensic pathologist, a team from the Federal Police’s scientific laboratory and members of the missing persons cell was required.”

They also indicated that no further investigation will be conducted because there was no third-party intervention, so ruling out a potential homicide.
