Three suspects have been handed over to Belgian authorities after being apprehended in early July in Germany as part of an international operation to dismantle a human smuggling network.

As previously reported, vehicles loaded with boats and life jackets intended for human trafficking had been discovered on the Flemish coast on a regular basis since 2019.

As a result, West Flanders police, in collaboration with international authorities, launched a joint effort to dismantle a vast network of human smugglers.
