The Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) has issued a yellow thunderstorm alert for eight provinces, from 5.00 p.m. on Friday to 4.00 a.m. on Saturday.
The alert covers the provinces of Liège, Namur, Luxembourg, Walloon Brabant, Antwerp, Limburg, Flemish Brabant and Brussels.
The IRM expects localised downpours that can be very intense and stormy, with accumulations that could exceed 10 litres per square metre in one hour.
