Neighbours were startled last night by an explosion in the Rietschoor fields in Merksem. Allegedly, a firework bomb was thrown against the façade of the house.
No one was injured and there is no damage. The targeted house has been vacant for a long time. Earlier this year, the house was shot at.
At the Stacks pancake house on Volkstraat, a suspicious object was found. "The Dovo anti-mine service attended the scene to investigate," said Kristof Aerts of the public prosecutor's office.
