Anyone who needs to conclude a new energy contract on the commercial market in Belgium in September is in for a shock since prices have gone through the roof.
The estimated annual price for electricity has risen to €3,256.63, while the average for natural gas is €5,954.07.
This results in a combined annual bill of €9,210 for the average family, according to figures published on Thursday by the Flemish energy regulator, Vreg.
The estimate does not take into account measures governments are planning to reduce energy bills.
