A fatal accident occurred on Monday morning in Hal, on the access ramp to the Brussels Ring Road, resulting in the death of a 58-year-old motorist.
The accident occurred at around 07:00 on the A8 towards the Brussels Ring Road when, for a yet unknown reason, a vehicle started zigzagging and hit a safety rail before crashing into a tree.
Witnesses then alerted the emergency services and tried to resuscitate the 58-year-old driver who unfortunately died at the scene.

An investigation has since been opened into the accident as the exact cause has not yet been discovered, but it is likely that the driver had fallen unconscious and subsequently lost control of his vehicle.
