A 33-year-old man killed his partner and child in Dendermonde before surrendering to the police on Saturday morning, the East Flanders prosecutor’s office said.
The suspected femicide and infanticide were committed an an address in Werkplaatsstraat, Dendermonde.
The suspect surrendered himself to local police at around 06:30. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered two bodies, said Dendermonde police chief Patrick Feys.
The man's wife was 28-years-old and the child was five-years-old.
The prosecution has refused to provide further information about the case at this moment in time. A forensic team and medical examiner were on the site on Saturday.
