A container ship en route to the Belgian port of Antwerp was sent back as a precaution late on Wednesday after a threatening phone call was made, the Federal Police report.
The unknown caller claimed that the ship would explode if it docked at port.
Pending further assessment of the threat and the identity of the caller, the vessel has been sent to anchor out at sea. Police state that this is simply a precautionary measure.
When the ship is deemed safe, it will be allowed to dock at the port of Antwerp once again.

The police did not reveal which ship had received a bomb threat, but the Belga News Agency learned from a reputable source that the threat was directed towards an MSC container ship.
