Union Saint-Gilloise booked their place into the semi-finals of the Croky Cup, Belgian football's most prestigious cup competition, with a 4-0 win over Gent on Thursday.

Going into the match, many hoped that Union would have enough to defeat the current cup holders Gent. Yet few would have expected the Brussels side to be up by 3-0 by the 41st minute.

Indeed, goals by Gustaf Nilsson, Jean Thierry Lazare and Victor Boniface saw Union put their foot firmly in the door of the semi-finals by half-time, with another goal by Lazare in stoppage time sending their fans home happy with a 4-0 win.
