Despite the rapid intervention of the emergency services, the heavy winds quickly spread the flames from garage to garage. Only one row of boxes was spared. The fire brigade evacuated the inhabitants of the neighbouring buildings.

At 22:00, the emergency services indicated that they were dealing with a fire affecting several dozen garages.

The origin of the fire is not yet known. The smoke was particularly bitter in the area "because of the contents of the garages", explained a fireman, "it's not just cars and their fuel, there's also furniture, tyres and anything else that people might pile up."

No one seems to have been injured.
