The Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the alleged rape of a 17-year-old Anderlecht school pupil by one of his classmates, the office said on Tuesday, confirming a report by Het Laatste Nieuws.

According to the newspaper, the events took place on 25 October at the Castor site of the Go! Scholengroep Brussel, where catering training is provided.

A 17-year-old student allegedly raped another student of the same age during lunchtime.

The reported victim then left the school and went with her mother to the Centre for the Care of Victims of Sexual Violence (CPVS) at the Erasmus Hospital in Brussels, where she was examined.

"We can confirm that a report has been drawn up,” said Brussels Prosecutor’s Spokesperson Stefan Vandevelde. “As this is a matter of morality, the Public Prosecutor’s Office will not make any further comments."
