An edition of Gent Jazz will be organised this summer, the new owner confirmed to Belga today. Last year the summer festival went bankrupt but organiser Greenhouse Talent bought the name and rights three weeks ago.

Hiring for new staff is underway and talks with partners started. Today, owner Pascal Van de Velde confirmed that there are sufficient guarantees to announce an edition in 2023.

The festival will probably take place in the first two weeks of July and at the familiar Bijloke site. More details will follow.

Gent Jazz was first organised in 2002 under the name Blue Note Festival. Since 2008, it became a calendar fixture under the name Gent Jazz Festival, attracting around 40,000 fans. Next summer’s edition will be the 21st edition of Gent Jazz.
