A young man was killed in a stabbing attack in the Brussels commune of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode during the night from Monday to Tuesday. The incident, first reported by Sudpresse, was confirmed by police forces on Wednesday. No details on the identity of the victim or the circumstances of the stabbing have yet been made known.
According to Mélanie Massoz, spokesperson for Brussels North police, the police were "notified of a brawl on Rue de la Prairie at around 03:30 on Tuesday." The Brussels North police are active in the Brussels communes: Schaerbeek, Evere and Saint-Josse-ten-Noode.
Massoz explained that the team had arrived on the scene and administered first aid to the victim they found there. It was reported that the victim later died of his injuries. The Brussels prosecutor’s office was informed and has opened an investigation.
