A criminal organisation that allegedly generated over €180 million in illicit profits from cocaine trafficking has been dismantled by the Leuven Federal Judicial Police, FJP, the city’s public prosecutor’s office and European police cooperation agency Europol, the PJF said on Thursday.

Five suspects have been arrested and others are being sought. Police also seized €1.2 million in crypto-currencies, €50,000 in cash, cars and luxury goods, two business premises and a house, plus proceeds from cocaine trafficking.

FJP-Leuven worked closely with the Dutch regional police forces of Zeeland-West Brabant and Rotterdam, as well as the Spanish Guardia Civil during this investigation.
