A man suspected of burglary and car theft in Zaventem was arrested near Eghezee, in the Namur province, following a car chase, the Halle-Vilvoorde Public Prosecutor’s Office said Friday. The suspect, aged around 30, has been placed under arrest.

After the car chase, during which the driver repeatedly broke the highway code, the suspect was intercepted. He was not in possession of a driving licence and was driving under the influence of drugs.

The burglary took place on Tuesday evening in a house in Bremberg in Zaventem, just outside of Brussels. The house was searched and the perpetrator stole a vehicle.
