After flying over Antwerp’s Scheldt river last week, the multi-starred restaurant “Dinner in the sky”, which propels its guests to 50 meters high, was installed on Thursday at the Brussels Canal until Sunday, 23 June.
A five-course menu (295 euros) will be offered daily, cooked and served by the gourmet chef of the day at noon, 7 pm and 9.30 pm. Guests are greeted on the Beco dock near Sainctelette Square where they will “walk on water before taking off”, promised the organizers, for their view of Tour & Taxis, Brussels Port and the future Kanal Pompidou Centre Museum.
22 guests at suspended tables will be honored by such starred chefs as: Yves Mattagne (Sea Grill **), David Martin (Peace **), Pierre Résimont (L’Eau Vive **), Alexandre Dionisio (Villa in the Sky * *), Bart De Pooter (From Pastorale **), Viki Geunes (T Zilte **), Karen Torosyan (T Bozar Restaurant *), Isabelle Arpin (Isabelle Arpin), Giovanni Bruno (Senzanome *), Luigi Ciciriello (La Truffe Noire *), Mathieu Jacri (Villa Emily *) and Alain Bianchin (Restaurant Alain Bianchin *).
Cocktails sessions (125 euros) will also be held in the afternoon on weekends, consisting of three appetizers concocted by chef Alexander Moormann (Gustave Workshop) and three cocktails by mixologist Edward Silverhands (Cocktails.Bytheway).
A few places are still available for the “food pairing” offer (15, 22, 23 June), as well as gourmet meals (19, 20, 21 June).
Imagined in 2006, “Dinner in the Sky” platforms now crisscross the skies over sixty countries, including Brazil, South Africa, the United States and part of Europe.
Since 2012, the Belgian company shares this success every year in June with the capital where it was born, in partnership with VisitBrussels and the City of Brussels.
The event has been organized at the Mont des Arts, the Cinquantenaire, in front of the Atomium and last year in front of Koekelberg Basilica.
