A man is in critical condition after being seriously injured during a fight in the municipality of Schaerbeek on Sunday.
The police were called to Place Liedts in Schaerbeek at around 16:45 on Sunday after responding to reports of a fight.
When they arrived at the scene, they found the victim in a serious condition. By the time they arrived, the assailant had fled the scene.
However, he was subsequently arrested and charged by police, the Brussels-North police zone reported on Monday, although "the exact circumstances and the reason for these actions remain to be investigated further," a police statement read.
The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, with his life still believed to be in danger.
