A thief stole about 45,000 euros worth of video and computer equipment from Belgium's Lotto Soudal cycling team just before 21:00 on Wednesday.

The Lotto Soudal team was staying in a hotel near Toulouse, France, after the 11th stage of the Tour de France when the robbery occurred. The two other teams staying in the hotel were not robbed.

The theft appears to have been premeditated, team spokesperson Arne Houtekier said.

"The thief had to follow our video maker from the entrance hall, where he first worked, to his room," Houtekier said. "There, he struck quickly."

No bicycles or other team equipment was stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
