A concert, sound and light show, and fireworks capped the 21 July festivities in Brussels’ Parc du Cinquantenaire on Friday evening. Several Belgian artists performed on the stage set up under the famous arcades, one eye turned towards the grandstand where the royal family had taken their seats.

The world gradually poured into the Parc du Cinquantenaire on Friday evening until it filled up completely. The public gathered there to hear artists from all generations sing, accompanied by an orchestra. They listened to Camille, Gustaph, who represented Belgium at the last Eurovision contest, Ozark Henry, who sang his song “Sweet investigator,” Rori and her 'Docteur,' the Brussels group Colt, who sang 'Insomnies,' and Mentissa with her hit song 'Et bam.'

At the end of the concert, the royal couple and their children were invited to join the stage. The King took the floor to thank the Belgians who had come in their numbers. “Wat een mooie avond, wat een mooi feest! Thank you all for this bank holidays that is so dear to us,” he said, before shouting an enthusiastic “Happy Belgium!”

After the concert, the King, Queen and their four children left the stage to the cheers of the audience.
