Boris Johnson promises Brexit on October 31

The future British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pledged to implement Brexit by 31 October.

He made the pledge shortly after he was appointed by the Conservative Party members to succeed Theresa May.

"We will implement Brexit on 31 October", the deadline set after two postponements, said the former mayor of London, who will officially take office on Wednesday.

Johnson won the race to become the next British Prime Minister against Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt, according to the results announced Tuesday by the Conservative Party.

Johnson obtained 92,153 of the votes of the 159,000 or so votes of the party members who were called upon to vote between them, against 46,656 votes for Mr Hunt.
